This weeks learning has been:

English

-We have been looking at the traditional fable of 'The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse'.

-Red class re told the story through sequencing pictures and adding captions.

-We then wrote a persuasive informal letter from Town Mouse to Country Mouse convincing him to come for another visit.

Maths

-We started this week with reviewing repeated addition.

-We then looked at how we can represent this in groups. We also looked how many groups each number sentence had and how many is in each group.

-We then looked at the multiplication sign and discussed what it means (times, multiply and groups of).

-We then looked at how 3 x 4 is the same as 3 groups of 4.

-Red class learnt how to draw an array to help solve their multiplication sums.

Geography

-We started by looking at Devon. We looked at where Devon is on a map, how far it is from London, its landscape, human and physical features.

-Red class then wrote sentences comparing Devon and London. We spoke about the similarities between an area in the countryside and a city.

Phonics/Spelling:
