Welcome to Reception 

Firstly, we’d like to welcome you to Bushey and Oxhey Infants and thank you for choosing us as your child's first step in to education. We know that for many of you this will be your first experience of having a child starting school and so there is lots of new information from us and you may have many questions. But hopefully our class pages will be full of everything that you ever may need to know. 

Secondly we’d like to welcome you to our two Reception classes, Green and Orange. We spend snippets of our day as separate classes, for focussed adult lead learning time, but often work together as one big group and so many of our experiences will be shared with children from both classes.

As a team, we pride ourselves in making Reception a warm and welcoming place to be. A place where all children feel happy and safe and can be themselves. Somewhere that they look forward to coming to each morning. We are passionate about getting to know the children as individuals, as well as a whole group and building positive relationships with them. 

The Early Years curriculum is centered around learning and exploring through play and being active in this to make us creative and critical thinkers. Our Early Years ethos here at Bushey and Oxhey Infants is to ensure that all children are at the root of what we do and so we build on their likes, interests and needs to develop our curriculum throughout the year. We start with a big question and go on a learning journey together.
