Dear Year Two parents,

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

The following details will explain our plans for remote learning in Year Two over the next few weeks. It is as new to us as it is to you so please don’t hesitate to email us with any questions and we will try our best to answer them!

We will use Google Classroom as the main portal for classwork and information. Each child has been given a login and password which should be inside their Reading Record. If you are unable to find these details, please let us know.

At the start of each week, we will upload a timetable of activities onto our class page. This is a similar format to what was used in March last year. All the resources for each activity will then be uploaded onto Google Classroom on a daily basis. Please submit any work back to us through Google Classroom where possible. Feel free to also take pictures and upload photos if this is more appropriate for the task.

In addition to this, each day there will be three opportunities for your child to join an online session with us. These are as follows:

9.10am: Registration and quick whole class phonics.

10am-11.30am: Small group sessions, either focusing on Maths or Guided Reading.

2.30pm: Opportunity to share learning and a story (optional).

The Maths and Guided Reading sessions will take place in small groups. Each day we will send a message to you on Google Classroom informing you of the specific time for your child. Please only arrive at this time as there may be other groups in the meeting room if you arrive early or late.

To join in any of these sessions, please click on the Google Meets link on your Google Classroom homepage.

We hope this information is useful and we will be available via email all week. As this is the first time we have all used Google Classroom, please bear with us and note that timings and groupings may change as the week goes on.
