Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Week 7 - 19/10/20

Well done on a fantastic half term Yellow Class! I am so proud of how hard you have all worked!

We continued looking at Goldilocks and the Three Bears this week and we planned our own story. We changed the three bears and the porridge to our own ideas. Yellow Class had such brilliant imaginations! We had three ghosts, monsters, monkeys, zebras and ducks. Goldilocks was eating things like spider soup, cereal and pancakes! We then used our ideas to write the story in two parts. I am so proud of the writing you have all produced! We have also been recapping our phase 3 sounds in phonics this week.

In maths, we have been continuing with looking at numbers to ten. We looked at how we could prove we knew 3+5=8 for example by drawing pictures to help us. We then worked systematically to split 5 into all the different parts. We have also recapped different things we have been learning this half term.

In science, we looked at the animal groups again and this week we were writing reasons why we knew an animal belonged to a specific group. We learned that all mammals have hair or fur and all birds have wings and beaks but they can't all fly!

In topic, we have carried on completing our computing work in groups where we are using Purple Mash to draw the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In our Jigsaw lesson, we were talking about all the ways that we can be kind and drawing pictures to show all of these different ways. Yellow Class discussed some lovely ideas about being kind in the classroom.

You all looked amazing today in your Autumn fancy dress! We have been doing some Autumn activities this week as well including making our own pumpkin!

I hope you all have a lovely half term break, you deserve it!
