This library of tutorials will continue to grow in order to help and support you.

Hello Parents,

Across both schools our teachers and TAs have been really thinking about our approach to blended learning and the plan we have to put into place to ensure we are able to support all our learners, be they at school or working remotely.  In our schools we will be using Google Suite, and Google Classroom particularly.

Aside from EYFS, all classes should now have log-ins and passwords to access their Google Classroom.

  What is Google Classroom?

Google Classroom is an online learning platform which has been adopted for a solution for distance learning. There are however, lots of great features and benefits to using google classroom. Initially, many parents think that Google Classroom is a virtual classroom where students log on to find their teacher and classmates waiting to start the day. While Google Meet allows for that type of interaction, Google Classroom is different. Google Classroom allows for a platform for teachers and pupils to interact via posting assignments/tasks, engaging in academic dialogue, and providing feedback to one another. When children log on, they see a snapshot view of upcoming homework assignments, teacher announcements, pupil questions, and other important class information. The children can then submit their work directly through Google Classroom, and teachers can provide feedback and return the work.

How can my child access it?

I have produced a short video to ensure you can all access the platform either from a desktop or smart device. Please find the Vimeo link to the video below.

Some have already been using the platform to access homework and this will eventually be the direction for us all. This will also provide a better experience for the children if we were to move into a future lockdown or if classes/year groups needed to self-isolate. We will continue to produce more videos to help and support you along the way (as we learn ourselves – we’re all in this together) but in the meantime we would like to thank you for your patience, partnership and continued support with this.
