Week 6: W/E 16th October

This week, in Maths we have been practising our mental addition skills, using number facts that we know, to help with our addition. We have also been regrouping the numbers to help us work out the calculations faster and more efficiently.

 

In English this week, we have been looking at the features of instruction texts. We used a range of different techniques to memorize and perform the text ‘How to Feed Your Pet Dragon’. Next we will be text-mapping in preparation for writing instructions for feeding our own pet dragon.

We had our second clay skills session where we learned how to roll out a tile, to impress designs and embellish it with additional pieces of clay. Next week, we will be designing, and then making, Dragon Eyes using air-drying clay.
