This week we carried on our learning around the story of Handa's Surprise. We used our describing words from last week and turned them in to sentences, thinking about using our sounds carefully so that they can be read by others.
We have been using our knowledge of seasons to help us learn the months of the year. We have been learning about different events that happen in each season/month and what things change from season to season. We have had some good discussions about which weathers fit in to one season and the weathers that can happen in more than one. Like rain! Also the difference between the sunshine in winter and the sunshine in summer. This has helped us to link back to keeping healthy too, and how to keep our bodies healthy and safe as the weather changes.
Highlight of the week, was definitely the arrival of some new classmates on Thursday, in the form of 10 wiggly caterpillars. We have been observing them over the last couple of days and finding out about what is going to change. 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' has helped us with this. We used our sentence writing skills to write some descriptive sentences about our new additions as well.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend - fingers crossed for lots more sunshine!
