Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Week 6 - 12/10/20

This week we have been looking at another tale from the Jolly Postman - Goldilocks and the Three Bears! On Monday, we acted out the story in groups and we had some brilliant performances. We have also sequenced the story, written some character descriptions and used speech marks to imagine what the characters are saying! Our phonics sounds this week have been 'ee', 'e-e', 'igh' and 'i-e'.

In maths, we have been using part whole models to split numbers into 2 and 3 parts. We have used cubes to help us and we have then written the matching addition. Today, we focused on number lines and how we can use them to count on when adding.

In science, we have continued our work on animals by looking at the different animal groups including mammals, reptiles, fish, birds and amphibians. We did a cutting and sticking activity where we sorted the animals into groups.

This week in topic we have been doing computing. We used the programme called Purple Mash to create images in groups of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears story that will come together in a slideshow. We will continue this next week.

In PE, we have been continuing with our throwing and catching skills. Today we were practicing our overarm and underarm throws in groups.

Have a lovely weekend Yellow Class, I'm so proud of how hard you are all working!
