Hello, I'm Mrs Smart...

I have been working at Bushey and Oxhey Infant School since 2010; time flies when you’re having fun! I am looking forward to working in Reception and sharing my love and enthusiasm of learning with the children.

I am very musical and in my spare time enjoy playing the flute and singing. I have a young daughter so have been practising my nursery rhymes constantly for the last 8 months! I look forward to hearing the children’s musical creations in our outside area.

In school, my favourite area to teach iis reading because I love watching children’s faces the moment it all fits together. I have so many favourite books it is hard to choose just one, but it is hard to beat the magical world of Harry Potter!

Some of my other favourite things include walking, eating cake and playing with my two pet degus.

Hello I’m Mrs Dunne...

This is my fifth year at Bushey and Oxhey Infant School, so I know the school well and have lots of experience in Early Years. I love working with young children in Reception, it’s so much fun as the children are so creative and enthusiastic to learn.

Before I worked in schools, I had a career in banking! This means that I LOVE numbers and shapes. I enjoy bringing my creative side into Maths to really engage the children in their learning.

I also enjoy junk modelling with the children, it is amazing to see the ideas and creativity that they come up with from a simple cereal box!

I love doing whole class reading, especially when the books are written by Julia Donaldson. My favourite book of hers is 'Room on the Broom', which is always a favourite among the children because of the fun and exciting rhymes.

I have two sons of my own and live locally. I enjoy baking and trying out new recipes, going for long walks (to burn off the cakes I make!) and looking after my three cats.

Some of my other favourite things include the colour purple, tigers, swimming and I am just starting to learn how to crochet (it was my lockdown hobby).
