Geography in Action
At Bushey Primary Federation, we want all our children to have an understanding of the world in which they live and their place in it. We want to foster and inspire curiosity for the physical and human elements of Geography, through encouraging our children to ask “why?” Geography is naturally an investigative subject, therefore it promotes a sense of awe and wonder about the world and its people, which we want to evoke in our children, to allow them to become responsible and empathetic Global Citizens. Through developing their knowledge and understanding of diverse places, people, resources, and natural and human environments. This combined with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes, we are creating children who are sensitive to the ever-changing needs of our world. This is achieved by:
• A curriculum that promotes curiosity and a fascination of the world
• A curriculum which encourages children to become responsible, global citizens
• A curriculum which equips children with the skills to navigate and explore
