Week 4: 4.05.2021

In spite of this being a short week, Red class have managed to fit lots in.

 

 

English

-We started off the week by looking at different types of sentences e.g. command, question,exclamation and statement. 

 

 

Science and History

-We started off by looking at our own personal journey and life stages so we could then relate this to the scientific stages of a humans life cycle. 

- Red class learnt about the 6 different stages in a humans life and the features a human may show at this stage. 

-Red class then looked at the difference between living things and non-living things. Red class were then introduced to MRS NERG which states the 7 features of a living thing. 

 

Maths

-This week Red class have been reflecting on the importance of knowing how to order numbers and understand a numbers amount. 

-Red class also recapped the following symbols and they can be used in a number sentence: <,> and =. 

 

Guided Reading 

-Red class are now trying out whole class guided reading in preparation for Year 3.

-Our class text is 'James and The Giant Peach' by Roald Dahl. 

 

Spellings

This week Red class have been looking at changing words into the plurals. So getting rid of the 'y' and adding 'ies'.
