Week 2
Year 6 are back with a bang this week! It has been amazing to see how much the children grew over the Easter holidays and how 'ready' they now seem for secondary school. They are most definitely the big fish in the small pond now. Due to this, we have started thinking about transition this week and considered out thoughts and feelings around 'moving on'. We have rounded off our WWII topic by exploring VE and VJ day and we have begun writing flashbacks based on 'The Piano' short film clip - see hyperlink.
The year 6 are very excited to be finalising plans for end of year day trips and we look forward to share more information with the children over the coming days and weeks. Let's hope that the weather keeps as lovely as it is so that the children will be 'swinging from the trees' in style (hint, hint!)
