History in Action
Our History Curriculum
History is all around us. We are proud of our History curriculum at Bushey Primary Education Federation. Our aim is to ignite children’s curiosity about the past in Britain and around the world. In particular, those impacting histories of families and cultures within our community. We want our children to understand how historians find out about the past and how they can become active historians themselves. The children will be able to place their learning in contexts both in History lessons and across all other subjects.
Through the use of a number of historical skills we want children to find out about how and why the world, our country and the local community have developed over time and the impact that this has had upon the world which we are living in today. We want to teach our children to understand our past so that we can make thoughtful observations and judgements about the future and about current affairs. For example we want the children to articulate the impact the past has had on our modern world
