Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Week 2: 19.04.21

At the beginning of the week we continued to explore the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We thought about the adjectives (describing words) that we used to describe the fruits and made them into sentences that we tried to write in our books independently. We have also been sketching, drawing and painting the fruits. First we looked at them as a whole fruit before we then cut them open and explored the inside.

On Thursday we had some very special arrivals to our class! 10 Caterpillars! This led us to read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We have begun to look at the life cycle of the butterfly and will continue to watch and observe as our very own caterpillars grow, change and transform into beautiful butterflies.

This also linked in with our Maths learning, we have been exploring the different seasons. Throughout the week we have looked at the different changes and events that happen in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We talked about the changes to the trees, leaves and even our clothes. We have also been learning about the Months of the year and thinking about which Month each of our birthdays is in. We even made a tally chart to help us count!

Have a lovely weekend, enjoy the sunshine!
