Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Week 3

M6 have really been put through their paces this week. As part of the whole school assessment week, year 6 completed their first set of SATs practice papers and worked really hard throughout. The content ranged from year 3 to year 6 level and the children tackled the most challenging problems. In the afternoons, the class have been sketching life figures and making ‘blood smoothies’ to understand the components and functions of blood. They used strawberries to represent the red blood cells, marshmallows for the white blood cells, sprinkles for the platelets and juice for the plasma. They were then given an additional ingredient to represent antigens. The results were interesting and certainly not to everyone’s taste! But enjoyed nonetheless.
