Week 5
This week in History, the children wrote and performed radio shows looking at the truth behind myths. We are taking every opportunity we can to read, talk and perform in front of each other as it is a life skill that is valued everywhere.
In English the children have written blurbs to their explanation texts collaboratively and next week will be writing individual chapters before creating a group text.
In Maths we have continued working with decimals and started looking at thousandths. We have been using concrete resources decimals and it is really important that children use these concrete resources to firmly secure their understanding BEFORE they are not in a position to use them! We have the ordered and compared decimals with a variety of decimal places and finished off the week with rounding decimals to the nearest whole number.
In Science we wrote up our experiment from last weeks scale model making. It was really good to see the children using their writing skills to write extended pieces in another subject.
