Yellow Class

Welcome to Yellow Class

Welcome to the Yellow Class page from Miss Ward, Mrs Fox and Mrs Oliver. Mrs Fox is with us Monday to Wednesday and Mrs Oliver is with us on Thursday and Friday.

In Yellow Class we are a group of 26 enthusiastic children and three very proud adults. We enjoy working together in order to develop ourselves as learners and become more confident with our curriculum subjects. Yellow Class decided altogether that this year they will always try their best and be supportive and kind to each other.

During the first half of the Autumn Term, we will be reading The Jolly Postman and focusing our learning around this story and other traditional fairy tales.

What have we been up to this week?

Hello!

I'm Miss Ward and this is my second year teaching at Bushey and Oxhey Infant School. I am very proud and excited to be teaching Yellow Class and Year 1 again. I think it is important for children to have the opportunity to explore and develop a curiosity in their learning, as well as developing the confidence to ask lots of questions!

One of my favourite subjects to teach is History as I have always enjoyed learning about the past and it sparks lots of fantastic discussions in the classroom.

I really enjoy reading books in my spare time and I love to share this passion with my class. I like to read lots of my favourite stories with the children and it's amazing to hear all of the books the children love to read too!

My favourite things about school are reading stories and poems, teaching creative activities such as painting and the mornings in the classroom - I love hearing all the children's stories and adventures they have been on!

I am looking forward to teaching Yellow Class this year and going on our Year 1 journey together!

Hello,

I'm Mrs Oliver and this will be my sixth year at Bushey and Oxhey Infant School. I started as a midday supervisor and then progressed to the position of teaching assistant. I have spent time working in both Year 1 and Reception.

It has been a great opportunity this year to move up from Reception to Year 1 with the same children. It is really important to me to help and ensure that all the children are happy, feel safe and nurtured in school.

Some of my favourite things are turtles, being at the seaside, the colour green and COFFEE!

Hello

I am Mrs Fox. I have been a Teaching Assistant at Bushey and Oxhey for over 20 years! My 3 children were all pupils at the school, my son started in Reception here nearly 33 years ago.

During my time at the school, I have mainly worked in Years 1 and 2 but I did venture up to Bushey Manor for a year and was based in a Year 3 class. Last year I spent some time in Reception and was able to get to know many of the children who are now in Year 1.

I especially enjoy working with the children in Maths and Science, exploring different methods to solve problems and making predictions for experiments.

Outside school I enjoy spending time with my 5 grandchildren. I am involved in the running of a local scout group and am a trustee of a local children’s charity. I also enjoy swimming, reading and travel.
