Welcome to B3!

As well as a marvelous group of 28 enthusiastic, bubbly children, our teaching team is made up of Miss Stevens (class teacher), Ms Kalokoh (teaching assistant x5 days a week) and Mrs Gear (teaching assistant x4 mornings a week). Read on to find out a little more about us all.

Hello, I’m Miss Stevens

In a past life I was a teaching assistant for a number of years but have now been a teacher for almost 13 years. This will be my seventh year teaching at Bushey Primary Education Federation, with the first five years being based at the Infants. I have been lucky enough to teach children in Reception, Year One and Year Two since I joined, and now Year Three so have taught many siblings over the years.

I love stories – reading them, making them up and writing them too. The possibilities are endless! I am passionate about English and the importance of securing reading, writing and SPaG skills to support all areas of learning. I enjoy researching and learning new information, particulalry in History and Geography. It's even better when we get to learn new things together - or when the children have their own fun facts for me !

Independence is something that is always encouraged in my class; within lessons, when thinking about ways to support our own learning and when resolving issues and conflicts. A life skill that is always needed!

Some of my favourite things (not forgetting reading!) include elephants, the colour purple, green apples, drinking tea (often too much!) and spending time with my family and friends.

I am very lucky (and very privileged!) to get to spend a second year teaching some of your wonderful children (how they've grown since Reception!), but also very excited to be getting to know our newer members and their families. I can't wait to watch them all grow and develop over the coming months and see what adventures we get up to together.

Hello, I’m Ms Kalokoh

I have worked for Bushey Manor Junior School for nine years, across years 3-6. I am excited about working in year 3 again this year. I enjoy reading, walking and rollerskating at the weekends. I look forward to working with you all more closely this year.

Hello, I’m Mrs Gear

I am the Teaching Assistant each morning in B3. Many of you already know me as I worked with your children in Year 1 and I am very excited to get to share another year of their primary education with them!

I have been working with children all of my adult life and after a break to have my own children, I decided I would like to work in a lovely school and was lucky enough to find this one!

My own 2 girls (who some of you probably know) have always had such a wonderful time at Bushey & Oxhey and Bushey Manor, so even before I worked here I knew what a great school it was.

My favourite part of the day is reading with the children. I love sharing their journey and watching them learn and develop to become confident, fluent readers which then helps them with all their other skills when it comes to learning.

I truly love my job and always go home with a sense of pride in all that the children have achieved everyday.

I am very excited about our year together and can't wait to see how they all grow in their learning as the time goes by!
