Week 1: 7th June 2021
This week we have been learning:
English
- We have been looking at the story 'Journey' by Aaron Becker.
-The story is a picture book with no words.
-The children used their knowledge of story writing to retell the story in their own words.
-We then focused on editing our own writing to make our writing even better.
Maths
- We have been looking at part - whole models and bar models.
-We have been looking at these representations of number sentences to help us solve missing number sentences e.g. 23 + ? = 27.
- We then had a go at writing and creating our own word problems to match the missing number sentences.
PHSE
-We have started to think about our transition to Year 3.
-We wrote a list of 'What if...' questions which we will answer over the next few weeks.
Art
- We have focused on vocabulary associated with clay work.
-We then practised and experimented with clay tools and techniques to prepare for our own sculpture we will be making later in the term.
