Welcome to Purple Class 

We are a team of 25 children and 2 adults who work together to teach, learn and support each other. We are proud of ourselves as learners and understand what it means to learn. 

We are a kind and caring class who ask lots of questions - we always want to know more. We enjoy sharing our learning and experiences with each other and want to be the best that we can be.

This year we are TEAM PURPLE CLASS! At the beginning of the year we decided what we all needed to do to be a successful team. The children love talking about their team and how they all work together and make TEAM PURPLE CLASS a fantastic and successful team.

Miss Leach

Hello everyone, I am the teacher of Purple Class. I have been a teacher for seven years and believe that I have the best job in the world. I have been at Bushey and Oxhey Infants for 4 years and I love being part of this amazing community and watching the children grow and learn as they move through our schools. 

I am especially interested in PE and keeping my children active during the day. As a keen runner myself I see the benefits of keeping active and feel it is a huge benefit to the children's learning. Brain breaks, Wake up shake up, Daily Mile and active lessons are just a few of the ways we keep moving in Purple Class. I also organise a 'junior parkrun' on Sundays for children aged 4-14 at King George Recreation Ground so come and join us!

Even though it is really hard to pick, my favourite things at school are:

• Sharing stories with my class
• Teaching Maths
• Talking with my class about 'big questions' at snack times or at the end of the day
• Finding out something new with my class (every day is a learning day for me too!)
• .........and drinking tea!

I am looking forward to this fantastic year in Purple Class and all the learning we are going to do together. 

Mrs Gear

Hello! I am the Teaching Assistant in Purple Class. I have been working with children all of my adult life and after a break to have my own children I decided I would like to work in a lovely school and was lucky enough to find this one! 

My own 2 girls (who some of you probably know) have always had such a wonderful time at Bushey & Oxhey Infants, so even before I worked here I knew what a great school it was.

My favourite part of the day is reading with the children. I love sharing their journey and watching them learn and develop to become confident, fluent readers which then helps them with all their other skills when it comes to learning.

I truly love my job and always go home with a sense of pride in all that the children have achieved everyday. 

I also am very excited about our year together and can't wait to see how they all grow in their learning as the time goes by!
