Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Week 3

In Maths this week, the children have been investigating negative numbers. They began using a number line to support their understanding of crossing zero. After this, they moved on to looking at a variety of scales that use negative number, for example, a thermometer.

In English, the class wrote their own poems which described the movements of a snake in pursuit of an iguana. To start with, they listened to music with their eyes closed and tried to imagine what was happening. Then they watched a video of the snake trying capture the iguana and made notes on the movements they observed. They used their notes to write some really lovely poems.

In Science, the children are learning about Earth and Space. They looked at different types of enquiry questions and sorted them into initial questions, improved questions and the best version of the question. They will be using these types of questions throughout their science learning.
