Week 10 w/c 21.6.21

This week Blue Class have been learning:

English

  • As part of our topic on ‘Journeys’, we looked at the life of Amelia Earhart using the book ‘Little People, Big Dreams; Amelia Earhart’.
  • We wrote facts about her life and career.
  • After identifying the features of a newspaper report, we planned and wrote our own articles based on Amelia’s disappearance in 1937.

Maths

  • We focused on the term ‘finding the difference’ and used subtraction to find the difference between different numbers.
  • We solved problems involving finding the difference.
  • We started to look at statistics, and how we could use Carroll diagrams to sort and interpret data and numbers.

Topic

  • We continued to practise our Maypole dancing; remembering not to get tangled and to keep in time to the beat!
  • We made our own timelines to order the evets of Amelia Earhart’s life.
  • We continued our art topic of sculpture by learning how to join pieces of clay together using scoring, slipping and blending.

What a busy week Blue Class; well done!

Next week we will be preparing for and writing about our trip to Paradise Wildlife Park in English, and continuing with statistics and arithmetic practise in maths.
