Bushey Primary

Education Federation

Educating Today's Child For Tomorrow

Welcome

Welcome to Bushey & Oxhey Infant School and Bushey Manor Junior School. We hope that you enjoy visiting our website and finding out more about both of our schools and how they work together as part of Bushey Primary Education Federation. The schools have two different and distinct identities, are subject to different Ofsted Inspections, but are united in offering a coherent and cohesive route for your child through their primary school years. We are two local authority maintained schools who work as a 'Federation' but not as part of an Academy chain or Trust. We are supported in our work by HfL Education which is a not for profit organisation providing all the training, services and resources needed to deliver a great education to every child.  We are firmly rooted in the local community and are proud of our extensive local links and parental support. We are an oversubscibed and popular choice for local families, many of whom have long associations with our federation schools.  We are proud to have taught generations of Bushey and Oxhey families.

We put our children and families at the centre of everything we do. We believe firmly that if our children feel happy, safe, valued and supported then the sky is the limit for what they can learn and achieve. Our schools are bright, lively, happy and engaging places which offer children a wealth of opportunities. We are blessed with expansive grounds for outdoor learning and forest school at Bushey Manor - which children in both our schools can avail of.

We have a dedicated and skilled staff team, with a very low staff turnover indeed which evidences the rich and full commitment our teachers and teaching assistants have in doing the best for your child and family. All our staff work across both of our schools as needed, so your child will have key adults to guide and support them in their pathway across both schools. The fact there are two schools means that we can offer two smaller, nurturing communities and your child will be coming into a smaller, friendlier building each day - where everybody knows their name.

We value our relationship with you. We know that through partnership and through developing a close and trusting relationship between home and school; working together at all times to promote the vision and ethos of our school community, your child will flourish. We are so proud of our children and their achievements.  Our standards are high and our children achieve well, but we are most proud of the calm, caring and community-minded environments which exist in both settings.

A wide range of opportunities both during and beyond the school day give children here the best possible start to their school lives. We have worked hard to ensure that we can offer quality wrap around care for working parents (from 7.45am to 6.00pm each day), with increasing place numbers to match demand (currently 60 places each day) and with practitioners who are trained, consistent and supportive of the vaying needs within our school community. We are fortunate indeed to work with the company Topkidz to ensure a reliability in the strong provision that is offered.  In addition there is a whole host of lunchtime and after school clubs including French, Tennis, Football, Netball, Lego, Dance and Drama, to further develop your child's interests, skills and passions.

We are supported by a dedicated and highly skilled board of governors and our Parent's Association is very active in organising hugely successful annual events which generate important funds for our school.  These events include an evening of Festive Fireworks in December and a Summer Fair each July which are wonderful community events, much beloved by our staff, children and families.

We are proud of the curriculum our staff have developed over the past number of years. We don't use an 'off the shelf' model in our curriculum delivery and what we have designed is bespoke to our children, community and evolving needs.  We value every child and believe that we provide an education which encourages many core learning values including teaching our children to be aspirational, respectful and kind. We are inclusive and accepting of everyone - teaching all to be kind, compassionate and sensitive in growing to understand the myriad ways of 'being' that make up our school community.

Please visit the website regularly to view our curriculum and to keep up to date with our events, achievements and activities -  although the website is just a snapshot of some of the many things which are going on in our thriving, busy schools.  We are taking a break from Social Media at present, but our newsletters will give you a taste of our school, should you be considering us a place for your child.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for, if not, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. If you would like to see us in action please call or email to make an appointment to come and visit. We value openess and transparency - so come and see us at any time in the school year.

You can find our contact information by clicking here.

If you choose to join our team as a parent, staff member, governor or child, I look forward to meeting you; learning and growing together.  We are not right for everyone, but we hope you find your fit and your home with us here.

Thank you for visiting!
