Llechwedd Slate Caverns & Mount Snowdon

Today, we explored underground history in the Llechwedd Slate Caverns where we learnt more about Victorian daily life. We were shocked to hear that boys the same age as us were made to do 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week, with only a short break; we were very relieved our school days aren't as long!

After lunch, we travelled to the Snowdonia mountain range and started at the base of Mount Snowdon where luckily the weather held out for us. Having walked for approximately an hour and a half, most of us reached our stopping point to enjoy a fantastic view, a snack and photo opportunity!
